Hey Chris, I am interested in buying some also and would like to know the same answers as Chip's questions. I am also especially curious about how much leakage one could expect if using them to transport fish for let's say a short 30 minute run from someone else's boat to my home? Right now we often fall back on garbage bags if there is no cooler and garbage bags frequently puncture. Thanks, Tony

I know that, but then all I said was that the Reliable doesn't leak. Maybe the other one doesn't either.

I also like the wide flat bottom of the Reliable bags. I had a different brand, Canyon, before, and it wouldn't stand on its own.

BTW, one reason the bag doesn't leak is that the zipper is on the top only. My Canyon bag had the zipper going down each end, and of course that permitted you to lay it out flat for cleaning. However, my crew hasn't bitched yet about pouring some soapy water into this bag and going over it with a mesh sponge.

I have no financial interest in Reliable bags, and I don't care if anyone buys one, and I don't want to seem to be trying to talk anyone out of this great deal being offered. I guess I got off track when Pargo was saying that he thought bags would leak, and I was simply saying that mine didn't.

The reliable bags looked like they would be a lot more insulating than these, but for the price it doesn't look like it can be beat.

Hey guys, here is a link to a 40"x20" heavy duty fish bag that is perfect for a normal day of shooting. Pelagic is a sponsor of the SPO and I think they give Sheri some kind of sponsorship as well. I ran into them at the Miami Boat Show and had to buy this bag although it has never been used.

The bags are stiched double on the outside and single stitched on the inside. The handles wrap around the bag and seem really heavy duty.

The zippers are only on the top. There are 2 zippers

Allright I spoke with the owner of C&H today to clear up some of the other details. He let me know that the zippers are not waterproof, but only leak very little when the bag is not upright. The insulation is closed cell and about a 1/2 inch thick. Also he told me that the seams are both stiched and welded. He would not tell me what the bag liner was made out of (saying its a "trade secret") ... sorry. If there is anything I can do to help you understand what it is (take pictures, describe it, etc...) let me know. Thanks again.

Ive had one of these exacty same bags for several years and it works great. It will hold water upright and it stays upright pretty good with water in it. We got it for kingfish tournaments but in my 23 footer it comes in handy for big fish like cobia, big grouper, ect when you dont have room for a huge cooler. When its not it use you fold it up and stow it. I used it at the dive tourney weight ins too. You can put you catch in it an hang it over your shoulder to walk transport fish.
I make an ice and saltwater slurry in it and it keeps stuff real cold.
If you do use it as a tournament bag WRITE YOUR NAME ON IT. At some king tourneys you'll be in line with 100 other people with the same bag.

Is the zipper pull plastic or painted metal? I almost bought another brand at a fishing show this weekend, but it had painted metal zipper pull. I've had experience with those corroding on dive bags. Plastic won't rot.
