Devin Bingham, from Spear America Irvine passed away diving in Hawaii
It's such a sad, sad situation; one of the brightest smiles, the most fun loving kids, he was a standout at the shop, just the most helpful, fun young men you could have ever met. He just turned 21 a few months ago....
Passed away diving in Hawaii, on Oahu last Sunday. He was retrieved by his dive partner, unfortunately there was no saving this. Arrangements have been made, the family is on Oahu and will be bringing his ashes home to California this weekend. While he was with a VERY strong diver, and he himself was a very good diver, and he was a capable deep diver, we feel something may have gone wrong, beyond staying too long, or SWB. Not sure, waiting on medical report and watch data to get a better idea of what happened on that last dive. Whatever went wrong....... it can't be undone. I wish I knew more, but we are still waiting for more information. He lived for diving, and was so much of a fixture at the shop, I just don't know what to say, because he was such a bright light to everyone who knew him. I'm doubly sad, because he was totally devoted to his mom, the second youngest of four brothers, and my sorrow for her is profound. Godspeed Devin; watch over us. (Devin with family, he is right up front. God bless you buddy; you left us way too soon.......

Condolences to his family and you and all of his friends. So sad that such a young diver was taken. I feel for his dive partner in these dark times. Hang in there.

Very sad to hear this. Please let us know if the family is able to release more information that might be helpful to others.
