Making hot water on the boat. Simple solution.
I know this has been discussed before, but I wanted to share a great solution that is simple to put together.
I'm getting more wimpy about putting on a wet wetsuit when it's cold out, especially late night lobster diving. I made a propane holder for a Zodi hot water heater and use an insulated 5 gallon insulated container. You recirculate the sea water in the container for about 15-20 minutes, it gets super hot and will stay hot for 6 hours. There is a scoop inside the container that you use to pour hot water into your suit, swish it around, and put it on as quick as you can. It makes putting on the suit enjoyable. Plus, when you come back to the boat, you can pour some hot water in your suit. The propane holder can be made with pvc from your hardware store, $12.00 for all the parts. |

If you have a Yamaha 4 stroke outboard you can run a hose from the flush adaptor and have endless hot water with just a piece of hose and a spray nozzle.

If 2 stroke, replace water pressure gauge port with a "T" and pull if off there.
