Re: Custom Liofish containment device
Yeah those bollard covers look like they could work pretty good and cheap too.

Re: Custom Liofish containment device
Aqua dog
Your post #2.. I made one similar to those, using the water jug like you did. Looked like it was going to be the hot set up till I did my first back roll off the boat with it, and it damn near tore my arm off! ONE BIG ASS BOBBER ! And when I got it filled with water and to the bottom I realized it was heavy to drag around..I mean..it was full of the same water that was around it, it should weigh Nothing ( and it did ) but it had a definite "weight" movement restriction. I ended up modifying a lobster bag, I used the same entry parts but replaced the loose mesh with a very tight coated mesh that the spines cant come thru ( kinda like what soft weights are made with) and the side that could touch me is a nylon reinforced solid vinyl. The nice thing is it rolls up to a small package that I can carry all the time. If I went down just to shoot lion fish the "big ass bobber" would be GREAT! Just leave it on the sand and work around it. But when I am covering ground, hunting other fish, it is to cumbersome to drag with me. |
