SonarChart shading to find ledges?

Has anyone tried this Sonarchart shading (see pic- it's the blue shades that highlight the depth contours) on their charts? Looks to me like it would be really helpful to easily see shallow vs deep water and find potential reefs and ledges but I'm interested in other people's experience.
