Out of Clwr. Pass 6-14-2022
Went out to the 70' depth range. Jumped in and looked down to see the sand and reef edge. Still gumbo. Just not as bad. I got a 21 3/4" mangoe and thought you belong out in the Elbow or MG. Horz. Vis. is a solid 35'+. Bottom water temp. now at 83F.. We got a few gags, goes and hogs. No sharks. Even the ICW water is pretty clear.

Re: Out of Clwr. Pass 6-14-2022
Headed out today and the gumbo was bad in 40 feet - 65-70 feet viz was "ok" but even on my usually loaded secret wreck the fish numbers were down significantly. Got some huge mangos, but only 2 legal hogs, and no gags. Did get a few scamp, though.
I'm thinking with water temps what they are, you either have to hope for decent viz occasionally in 20-30 feet further north, or have to go pretty deep for any fish now. |
