Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

Dove NE of Sebastian Inlet in 90 feet yesterday. Vis is 80 plus. Some of the best diving of the year. Lots of fish and our 2 person lobster limit averaged over 4 pound's a bug.
We did not dive in the Pines (55 ft), but as we went over, the top looked similar to out in 80 ft.
Temp OTB was 72.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

We went out of Sebastian 50 foot north. Visibility was only 5 feet at best. We managed a few nice lobster. Headed a few miles south still in 50 feet searching, Viz did increase however the ledges were packed with seagrass. So much grass we could not find a fish or lobster.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

Any viz reports from Canaveral or Sebastian in the last couple of days? Hoping to go Monday and would appreciate any insight available. Will post up what we see.

Thanks.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

We were in 80 ft NE of Sebastian. Vis was terrible, maybe 6 ft throughout the water column. I hope you had better vis.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

We had 10'-15' of viz on Monday SE of Canaveral in 80'-90' of water. Large # of boats were out. Ocean layed down late and was a very nice run in. Got some fish & lobsters, but had to work hard for them.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

We went to the 30-40 ft ledges off Vero (3 mile reef). Some of the best diving I have had there as far as Vis goes, maybe 40-45 ft. Not as many bugs as we hoped, but we caught 9. Flat seas, great diving. Also, its warm, 73 degrees. The only issue was there are about 40 cast netters getting Spanish mackerel. They were fairly grouped up, so easy to avoid.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

Are there any recent vis reports for Port Canaveral? How bad are the sharks right now?

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

I dove NE of Sebastian yesterday. 80-90 ft deep, water temp 71-72. Vis has been good the last 2 weeks, 30-40 ft. Sharks are still there; I see bull sharks almost every dive. We hook and line also and are getting a bunch of cut offs.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

Friday 6/17. 12 miles SSE of SI, 60SFW
rough ride out but bottom conditions were great. 50ft of vis temp upper 70s. Skinned it 2nd dive. Strong current fro east made hunting difficult towing marker buoy. Lots of 20 inch ARS, sheeps and mangrove. Saw 6 bugs, all short. Where have they gone? I used to see a few every dive all year. I havent seen a keeper in over a year.

Re: Sebastian or Canaveral Vis

Dove the Vero 45s Friday. Cold on bottom (maybe high 60's). Vis was 15ft or less. Decent current from the south. Lots of slimy algae/ seaweed stuffed in all the cracks and under ledges. 4 dives saw 8 bugs. One egger and two keepers. Going to be a challenging mini
