JP 5/15/22 Trip Report

We did a short trip yesterday out of JP. One spot in 90 feet, one in 75 and the last in 60. If you look at Jose's report from the day before, we had the same experience. One keeper hog, some ok mangos. We did see some really nice Gags on all three spots. And the deep spot produced three AJ's in the low 30 pounds. Mission for the day was getting my 14 year old son to the bottom in 90 feet and he did great so no complaints. Wondering where the near shore hogs are though. Maybe we should have stopped in 40-50 feet or headed more north.

Re: JP 5/15/22 Trip Report

Years ago, spearing was the main method of hog harvesting. Now, many target hogs by hook and line too. Also, in the last 2 years more boats fishing/spearing in our area.
