As long as you keep it hanging on the wall and never get it wet it should be ok.

From what I see..The bottom/darker pc. looks like it has the better grain of the two for your gun built laminates but you can't tell what is going on with that pc. at the top end from the picture and...

Just look on EBay. You will find a nice pc. of Mahogany that will be just right. Make sure it has straight grain! Set the pc. up 100% and take it in the water, that will tell you where and how much...

and another thing...Don't forget before you start cutting the wood lay a blanket or a clean tarp under that saw and yes collect all that good sawdust, strain it, lable it and keep the very super fine...

A. If I was you I would stay away from Lowes AND Home Depot as far as the lumber goes for your gun.
B. IF you had the right wood, looking at your drawing..why not dump the little pcs. and replaced...

All of the above and ...not sure how long your wood will be but try to rig up an even extension for your small table saw deck and a pc. of wood to push thru the end of the cut. Don't know about you...
