I just want to say thanks as well. Your testing and insight help the rest of us out so much. If you told me a few years ago the first thing I would do to a brand new speargun is change out the trigger and take a grinder to the handle I would say your crazy. Now I tell my friends they are crazy for not doing these things. Thanks!
Someone seriously needs to put you on their payroll. Thank you for your insight and contributions to the spearing community. I feel your testing and tinkering is going to make some big changes in gun design in the near future if not already.
Hey Spearq8,
Just wanted to tell you that your "channel" is one of my absolute best finds on this forum.
I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into your tests and write-ups and though I shoot modified pneumatic guns there is a whole lot of food for thought in your findings.
I have already shared your youtube channel on a Danish forum for spearos - so, I expect a bit Scandinavian love for the Primeline rubbers sometime soon;-)
I am Vad, and I am currently living in NZ.
I always enjoy watching your tests on youtube and your writing on the spearboard. Great insights into guns handling and components choice.
I plan to buy a second gun to accompany my BTOB125 on the tropical trips and I would like both guns to share same 7-7.5 x 1600 shafts.
I currently own Pathos 120 carbon and considering an upgrade to either through 130 barrel or purchasing a new gun, the BT Lycan Carbon 120. Based on your tests and reports, if I follow the Pathos upgrade path I also need to purchase the D'Angelo I handle and the Meandros trigger. The cost will come close to a new Carbon Lycan 120.
What is your recommendation.
Will Lycan handle 7.5x1600mm Addiction shafts shooting a single rap + a bit of reel line. Is Lycan a better choice than Pathos carbon 130 with 7.5x1600 shafts.
Will really appreciate and follow your advice.
Thanks in advance and have always a safe diving.

Hi. I read your post using the Primeline 17.5mm bands with better performance on the Riffe 120x. I also saw you have a Denton 120. I just picked up a Denton 120 and was curious if you had done any testing with an 8mm shaft or 7.5mm shaft. Thanks.
thanks you for the response. I will get 2 14mm bands and test it out. This gun would be my bluewater/ island gun for yt, dorado, and the occasional 20-50# tuna.
Petros (spearamerica) recommend i shoot the gun as is with a 9/32 shaft and slip tip.
Have you tested the guns with the 14mm bands? in your youtube video you were just changing the shafts and testing the accuracy correct? The guns in the video came with 16mm shafts..was this stock setup or did you downsize from the 17.5mm?
Hi spearq8
I've been reading ur posts and see you mention you've tested pathos guns extensively. I recently purchases a 140cm laser carbon ..I have 2 7mm shafts (1 threaded) and a threaded 7.5mm shaft. Stock bands. I'm getting ready to our summer season in SoCal. What have u found most accurate at distance with sufficient penetration for a 40-50# fish?
