Sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely manner....Don't check the message box as often as I should these days...I enjoy an occasional stay in Cat Harbor and it is open at present. Some good diving for wsb and yellows in northwest cove up by the tip, good spots on the inside of the west end at Starlight, Parsons, Johnsons Rock and many of the points down the inside. At Frog Rock near Avalon, lots of yellows near the sailboat wreck if you can find it with your meter.. Off Empire Landing for wsb and yellowtail...lots of spots, including the Isthmus off Bird Rock and out at Ship Rock (heads up for sharks there lately)...One of my favorites is Eagle Reef for wsb and Lions Head dropoff for yellows.. I plan all my trips around an early morning and late afternoon high tide (two hours before to two hours after) for best vis and best chance at finding a feeding gamefish..Good luck, Bob

    Hey Bob,
I've been on Spearboard long enough to consider you the resident advisor on Catalina. So I was hoping you can help me out with the best source of weather for the Island? Specifically I'll be camping at Two Harbors and trying to get some diving in around the Harbor or maybe over on the Cat. Harbor side while trying to avoid getting creamed by a boat. Thanks in advance and thanks for all the info you post on this site all the time, it's super helpful and inspiring to guys like me!
